What Is Mindfulness and How to Practice?

What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness consists of cultivating awareness of the mind and body and living in the here and now. Mindful Living is a state of active, open attention to the present. It is an awareness that life is available only in the present moment, and that it is possible to live happily in the here-and-now. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance without judging them as good or bad. By practicing mindful living you will not lose yourself in dispersion, regrets about the past, worries about the future, anger, or jealousy in the present moment. Instead of letting your life pass you by, learning to be mindful will open your heart and help you embrace your difficult challenges. How to practice mindfulness? 1. Choose a place with few distractions where you can find some quiet time. 2. Find a good posture that you can stay in for a while. You may sit in a chair with your feet on the floor or cross-legged in a lotus posture. Relax your shoulders; close your eyes or gaze downward 5-10 feet in front of you. 3. If you’re just beginning this practice, it can help to choose a short time, such as five or ten minutes. Eventually, you can build up to 45 minutes or an hour, using a timer. 4. Start by becoming aware of your breath, as you breathe in and as you breathe out. Inevitably, your thoughts will wander away to other places. When you notice that—bring your attention back to your breathing without judgment. Pay attention to the breath, and when your attention wanders, return. Don’t judge yourself or obsess over the content of the thoughts. Bring your awareness to your breath again and again. It’s been said that it’s very simple, but it’s not necessarily easy. The work is just to keep doing it. The key is to be aware, non-judgmental and compassionate to what is happening by embracing the moment. Benefits of Mindfulness: • Decrease in stress and stress related illness – improves the quality of life and sense of well-being. • Increase in focus and awareness – increase productivity, creativity, and concentration. • Increase in compassion for self and others – improves relationships. • Shift in perception – better decision-making, more positive outlook. • More accepting attitude toward life and its challenges – overall improved effectiveness and happiness. • Improvement in ability to cope more effectively with stress in daily life––healthier work environment for all. Appreciate yourself for having spent this time nourishing yourself in a deep way by being in this state of non-doing. Allow the benefits of this practice to expand into every aspect of your life. And don’t give up! Progress doesn’t always come quickly. Mindfulness takes time to work for you, but the good news is that the longer you practice, the easier it gets and more joyful you become, which is the stepping stone for Creating A Life That You Love, Mindfully. Creating Your Reality From The Intention You Are Holding

Creating Your Reality From The Intention You Are Holding

First, get clear about what you want to manifest through quieting your mind for few minutes. Visualize your intention and feel a lot of positive emotion around it. Remember if you cannot infuse your desire with positive, strong emotions, then you know your desire is not real for you. Expect to receive validation that the intention has been acknowledged in forms of synchronicity, which is the way of the universe accepting and bringing all the right components together to manifest your desire. Trust and let go. You may get frustrated or bored or even be thinking, “why isn’t this working?” or “is something wrong with me”. Hold on to your intention and do not kill it too soon with your doubt or your old beliefs. You must know that it will work. It is a Law. As you are expecting the manifestation of your desire, come into an alignment by focusing and taking inspired, spontaneous actions. This path is called a path of less resistance. In no time, you feel that everything is coming together to support the manifestation of your desire. The main thing is to keep your logical mind from too much analyzing and from trying to control the process. Enjoy the creation process as it unfolds and achieve a great result with the least amount of time and energy. Don’t give up! And always have an attitude of gratitude for Creating A Life That You Love, Mindfully. Benaz Mentor for Conscious Living/Meditation and Mindfulness Coach  ...

What Is Good About Our Adversity?

Adversities are our treasures that show what we want and what we don’t want. They are the other side of the coin that displays the clear path to what we desire the most. If there were no black, we would not see white. If there were no sadness, we would not be aware of happiness. If there were no fear, we would not realize how courageous we are. When we face our adversities with the intention of discovering ourselves, then we are setting ourselves up to know who we are. Anytime we face obstacles in life; we should ask ourselves “What is it that I am supposed to know about myself?” “What quality could I find about myself?” Adversities help us discover desirable potentials and build character. We grow stronger, more reliable, and consistently more resilient and creatively resourceful. Open yourself to receive the answer that leads you to the path of self-discovery. By knowing who you are not, you realize who you are. This is a start of living a life consciously. It is a start of walking on the path of self-realization to freedom and liberation that empowers you To Create A Life You Love, Mindfully. What Love Has To Do With It?

Love is who we are, whether we realize it or not. When we are in love, we are in no argument with what is or life in that matter. We all have been there. We have been in love with a person, situation, or things. In this state, all is good, there is no lack and everything looks fresh and new. What about if we don’t need something out side of ourselves to feel this love? What if we could live in this state of joy that is beyond the needs and wants and does not depend on something outside of itself? From this state of love, we attract people and events that we want to share this love with. It is powerful to love many things and seek out the goodness in others. In other times, it is so excruciating painful to be rejected that no one else can realize the suffering around it.  It is in those times that we try with all of our power to love ourselves and see our worth, exactly who we are. Our state of being is love, with itself and others; it is a state of bliss. In this state, we are aligning with our true essence, and there is no confusion to separate us from who we are. When we see and perceive from this state of oneness—nothing can shake this knowing.  The energy of love creates the reality of our life. By being loving towards ourselves and others, our life starts to take a new turn and empowers us to walk on the path of peace, joy, liberation, and fulfillment. A path back to ourselves. There is nothing close to the joy of realizing the essence of who we are and Creating A Life To Live, mindfully from this state. And it is a miracle to watch it as it unfolds. Power of Visualization

Power of Visualization

What is it about the practice of visualization that is so powerful? As we meditate, the mind gets quiet and goes to the state of deep relaxation called Theta. In this state, our mind becomes still and in tune with the source of our being, which is creative. Therefore, the mind becomes a cooperative component to manifest the object of our visualizations, dreams, and goals. When we visualize a desire or goal that we long for, we paint a picture for the subconscious mind to perceive.  When we envision our desire with more details, like how it looks and more importantly how it feels, we give more and more information to our subconscious mind to start working with a vivid plan. Like giving an architect a plan of a building that has all the details, visualization is a direct communication of the subconscious mind with the source of our being that loves to create and to bring about the reality of that desire. It is our birth right to Create A Life We Love, Mindful. By coming into alignment with the source of our Being and utilizing the creative visualization, is one of the tools and components that makes this creative process possible.
